Court issues bailable arrest warrants of PTI leader Azam Swati

ISLAMABAD, May 18 (Online): Court in Islamabad has issued bail-able arrest warrants of PTI leader Azam Swati in controversial tweet case.

The court has summoned him on May 30 for indictment.

Judge Azam Khan, Special judge Central Islamabad took up for hearing disputed tweet case Thursday.

During the hearing of the case, counsel for Azam Swati while filing exemption from attendance plea said out of court arrests of PTI leaders are continuing. Azam Swati was to appear in the court today and he is in Zaman Park at present. We are unable in making any contact with Azam Swati after 6 pm yesterday. Police had reached Zaman Park in the evening yesterday. Azam Swati is residing with Imran Khan in Zaman Park.

Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi while opposing exemption plea said has Azam Swati obtained protective bail from the court since several days.

The court summoned Azam Swati several times for indictment but he did not come. His health condition was good but his health condition deteriorates on his coming before court. The exemption pleas of Azam Swati have been accepted several times. Azam Swati did not appear in the court despite undertaking. They should at least give some evidence of Azam Swati stay in Zaman Park.

The court while rejecting exemption plea from attendance for one day issued bail-able arrest warrants of Azam Swati.

Besides giving order for filing surety bond of Rs 50000, court summoned Azam Swati on May 30 in connection with his indictment.
