Contempt of EC case: Imran directed to appear in person on May 23

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has directed PTI chairman Imran Khan to appear before it in person on May 23 in contempt of election commission case.

The contempt of EC case against Imran Khan came up for hearing before EC Tuesday.

A 4-member bench of EC presided over by member Nisar Durrani took up the case for hearing.

The bench inquired as to why Imran Khan has not appeared.

The assistant counsel said Imran Khan has to appear in Lahore High Court today. Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Imran Khan is also engaged in cases.

Member Balochistan said as to why bailable warrants of Imran Khan are not issued.

The EC summoned Imran Khan on May 23.
