Islamabad, May 12 (Online): The Islamabad High Court has granted interim bail to Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan for 2 weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
A division bench headed by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and comprising Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz heard the bail application of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
When the hearing started in the Islamabad High Court, slogans were raised in favor of Imran Khan in the court room.
Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb expressed displeasure on this occasion and said that there should be complete silence.
After the break of Friday prayers in the court, the hearing resumed, Khawaja Haris gave arguments and said that this is a request for Imran Khan’s pre-arrest bail and protective bail.
In another request, we asked for a copy of the inquiry report. We want NAB to be ordered to provide a copy of the inquiry report, the inquiry report of NAB was found out from the newspaper.
The court questioned that you were not given any questionnaire along with the notice, did you visit the NAB office?
Advocate General Islamabad Barrister Jahangir Jadoon said in his arguments that there is an alternative forum for the petition filed here, there is no solid reason to bring this matter to the High Court in the writ petition, the army was summoned under Article 245 of the Constitution.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan said that martial law has been imposed here that we should stop the hearing on all the petitions.
Deputy Prosecutor NAB said in the court that the inquiry started on July 15 after which a call-up notice was issued, Imran Khan never appeared in the inquiry, a business tycoon, Zulfi Bukhari and others were given notices in this case, Mian Muhammad Soomro, Faisal Vawda and others also received notices who joined the enquiry, Shahzad Akbar also received notices but did not join the enquiry.
Later, after hearing the arguments of the parties, the court granted interim bail to Chairman PTI Imran Khan for two weeks and stopped NAB from arresting Imran Khan.
