PEMRA put on notice on its order for stopping media coverage of Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, April 07 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to PEMRA and sought reply regarding its order for stopping media from making coverage of appearance of Imran Khan in the court.

The matter came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb Friday.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for PTI appeared in the court and told this order of PEMRA is against political activities. in the sight of law PEMRA transgressed its powers. PEMRA will do it again if this misuse of powers is not stopped.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired was this restriction for one day only.
Faisal Chaudhry told the court imposing restriction for one hour, three hours or one day will be considered transgression of powers.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked no one is ready to accept responsibility of the damage caused to the properties on that day. Asking for not making coverage is least.

Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb further remarked this has become tradition that instead of giving reply it is said he has also done so.
