Judge threatening case: Court changes nonbailable arrest warrants of Imran Khan into bailable arrest warrants

ISLAMABAD, March 31 (Online): Islamabad district court has changed non bailable arrest warrants of PTI chairman Imran Khan in female judge threatening case into bailable arrest warrants.

The court also ordered Imran Khan to submit surety bonds in the sum of Rs 20000.

The appeal plea seeking review of non bailable arrest warrants decision came up for hearing before the court led by additional sessions judge Sikandar Khan Friday.

The judge changed the nonbailable arrest warrants of Imran Khan into bailable arrest warrants against surety bonds of Rs 20000. The non bailable arrest warrants were issued till April 18.

The court observed two intervals. The court resumed the hearing third time.
Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Imran Khan appeared in the court.

He argued had Imran Khan been not targeted in murderous attack then there would not have been security concerns.

The judge remarked we want every court is safe for every accused.

The counsel for Imran Khan repeatedly requested the judge to adjourn the hearing.
The judge remarked if adjournment is given in hearing then the nonbailable arrest warrants will stand restored.

The counsel for Imran Khan said judicial magistrate decision is illegal. Imran Khan being name is no crime. Please announce interval in regard to hearing till Monday and keep the warrants suspended.

Prosecutor Raja Rizwan Abbasi argued the decision of judicial magistrate is as per law. Imran Khan has not appeared and he is not appearing as usual. Non bailable arrest warrants were issued due to his persistence absence.

The prosecutor said if warrants are issued for common citizen then decision about warrants is made on appearance of the accused in the court.

Prosecutor told the court Imran Khan knows about each and every date of court but he does not appear. Imran Khan wants not to appear in the court and warrants are not issued by the court.

The prosecutor said warrants cannot be suspended in the absence of the accused. Warrants are either implemented or they can be cancelled by the court which has issued them.

The prosecutor requested the court to dismiss the appeal plea seeking review of decision pertaining to non bailable arrest warrants.

The court inquired were the warrants served to Imran Khan.

Prosecutor told the court earlier police had gone to serve warrants and what was done with them. Warrants were in the knowledge of Imran Khan.

The judge remarked the process of serving warrants has to be completed.
