Court moved against Islamabad police for not registering case against police involved in violence against journalists

ISLAMABAD, MARCH 03 (ONLINE): The journalists have filed petition in district sessions courts Islamabad against Islamabad police for not registering case against police men involved in violence against the journalists.

Sessions court has marked the case to Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.

Additional Sessions Judge has issued notice to the respondents for March 07.

The court has issued notice to SP Complaint cell and SHO Ramna police station.

The plea has been taken in the petition that the police men can be seen clearly in video that they are subjecting the journalists to violence. The refusal by police for registering the case is illegal.

The petitioner requested the court to order Islamabad police to register case against police men involved in violence against the journalists.

It is pertinent to mention here that police had tortured journalists Zeeshan Syed, Shah Khalid, Abbas Shabbir and Idrees Abbasi on the occasion of Imran Khan appearance in the court on February 28.
