RAWALPINDI, FEB 25 (ONLINE): Flight operation and VVIP movement was affected at Noor Khan Airbase due to intense firing in Rawalpindi on the occasion of Basant.
The special plane of Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif could not fly to Lahore. PM left for Lahore 3 hours late.
According to media reports the aerial firing was so intense in the surrounding area of Noor Khan base that a bullet which was fired from unknown direction hit vehicle meant for security of PM.
The investigation into incident has started. Senior police officer on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incident.
Under the order of IG Punjab RPO Rawalpindi Syed Khurram Ali suspended two DSPs and SHOs and three police stations including airport police station.
