Political unrest: Rawalpindi’s educational institutions closed for two days

RAWALPINDI – November 7 (ONLINE) Punjab government on Monday announced all educational institutions across Punjab will remains closed for two days – owing to deteriorating law and order situation.

“Due to prevailing law and order situation of country, the competent authority has decided that all educational institutions (Government and Non government) situated within Tehsil Rawalindi only shall remain closed for 2 days,” a notification issued here by the office of Deputy Commissioner said.

On Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters staged their protest against non-registration of the First Information Report (FIR) of the Wazirabad incident, in which PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s assassination was attempted. Due to the protest, the Murree road remained closed for traffic on Monday.

The PTI supporters held protests at five different places in the twin cities which have badly affected the traffic flow on GT Road, Taxila, Rawat, Airport Road and Murree Road.

The PTI also shared a picture of its supporters demanding the registration of a first information report for the Wazirabad incident during the party’s protest in Lahore.
