IHC gives 10 days more to IBD police for recovering presenting missing person

ISLAMABAD, NOV 03 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given 10 days more to Islamabad police for recovering and presenting a citizen Hamid who has gone missing since February 02.

A single bench of IHC led by Justice Amir Farooq took up the petition seeking recovery of the citizen Hamid for hearing Thursday.

The court also extended the interim bail of SP Peshawar Police for 10 days who is nominated in this case.

Shah Khawar and Qazi Adil Aziz advocates appeared in the court on behalf of Peshawar police SP while advocate Imran Feroze represented the missing person Hamid in the court. SHO from Islamabad police and others also appeared in the court.

Islamabad police while taking U-turn in the court gave new statement. They told the court on the previous hearings that Hamid is with KP police and during the hearing Thursday they said that he is with Karachi police. We have come to know that FIR is lodged against Hamid in Karachi. We doubt that perhaps he is in the custody of Karachi police.

Justice Amir Farooq while expressing displeasure over new statement of Islamabad police remarked it is strange first your SSP said he is in the custody of KP police. Your SSP had told that they are having CC TV footage and geofencing. Now you are saying he is in the custody of Karachi police.

Islamabad police told the court yes it is like this as we had earlier said he is in the custody of KP police and now we have come to know he is in the custody of Karachi police. Some time more be given to us so that we could make confirmation from Karachi police.

The court while accepting police plea gave 10 days more besides adjourning the hearing of the case till November 14.
