Center, Punjab head to head over wheat shortage

ISLAMABAD / LAHORE – September 13 (ONLINE) Differences have erupted between PTI’s Punjab government and PML-N lead Federal government as wheat shortage mounts, Online has learnt.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has written a ‘protest letter’ to the federal government amidst non-availability of wheat, it emerged.

In the letter, CM said floods and heavy rains wasted tons of wheat across the province. The province is facing a wheat shortage of 10 lac tons, he added.

Elahi said wheat wasn’t provided by the federal government despite his request. Federal government is neglecting Punjab in this case, he said.

Chief Minister said that his government will ensure a comprehensive payback to the farmers for their hard work.
