Supreme Court dismisses contempt of court plea in the case of repatriation of actress Sophia Mirza’s daughters

ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the contempt of court plea in the case pertaining to the repatriation of daughters of model and actress Sophia Mirza following the withdrawal of this petition.
The matter came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.

The actress Soofia Mirza told the court during hearing of the case her children were shifted to UAE by making a woman fake mother. Nothing is being done for return of her children.

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood remarked the decision on the basis of which the contempt of court plea was filed has been implemented. Prime Minister (PM) has signed the summary. Foreign ministry is taking steps on the matter of repatriation of children from UAE. This is not correct to say that nothing is being done for return of children from UAE. The entire government machinery stands shaken on the matter of return of children.

The court while ordering DG FIA to file progress report on the repatriation of children after every 15 days dismissed the contempt of court plea being withdrawn.

The court adjourned the matter for indefinite period.
