Journalist Waqar Maqsood Satti granted interim bail till Sept 19 in blasphemy case

Rawalpindi, Sep 10 (Online): Interim bail plea of journalist Waqar Maqsood Satti has been accepted till September 19 in blasphemy case.

The bail petition was filed in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka.

The court while ordering the journalist Waqar Maqsood Satti to file surety bonds worth Rs 50000 granted him interim bail till September 19.

The officer bearers of National Press Club, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists led by PFUJ President Afzal Butt along with Waqar Satti also attended the proceedings.

Afzal Butt while addressing journalists in Judicial complex said we are with Waqar Satti. We will resort to high court for dismissal of case. A false case has been registered against Waqar Satti. This is first blasphemy case which has been registered against a journalist. This is act of victimization by Punjab government. Punjab Police is using powers in place of FIA.
