Court grants physical remand of Shahbaz Gill for further two days

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (Online): District and Sessions Judge Islamabad has granted further physical remand of Shahbaz Gill for two days and directed to hand over him to police.

Judicial magistrate Malik Aman while accepting police plea for further physical remand has ordered Shahbaz Gill be presented before the court on August 24.

Earlier PTI legal team presented medical report of Shahbaz Gill which was taken in Adiala Jail.

Special public prosecutor appeared before the court when court resumed hearing led by duty judge Malik Aman. He told the court it is request for physical remand. The decision is reserved in IHC.

Babar Awan counsel for the accused told the court Shahbaz Gill is in the custody of police since the last 13 days. Is 14 days remand is less remand. Has his life been taken?

Shahbaz Gill again came on rostrum and told the court clothes have not been provided to him since the last five days. Clothes were sent to me from my home which was snatched. I have not taken bath since the last 5 days. I am on hunger strike since the last 4 days.

I don’t want to become target of violence. Some medicine has been administered to me early in the morning. Have you to see me alive or otherwise. I have been kept like an animal.

The court remarked on your demand we give you access to family members and lawyers.

The court ordered to allow Shahbaz Gill to meet his family members.
