ISLAMABAD / KARACHI – August 22 (ONLINE) Islamabad Police on Monday claimed Bol TV’s anchor Jameel Farooqui has been arrested from Karachi over ‘falsely accusing the law enforcement agency of physically and sexually assaulting PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’.
However, DAWN.com while quoting Zaman Town SHO Zahid Lodhi reported on Monday that Karachi Police denied arresting Farooqui.
On Monday, Islamabad Police confirmed that Jameel Farooqui who is currently working with Bol news was taken into custody after a case was filed against him at the Ramna Police Station.
Jameel Farooqui had uploaded a video on his YouTube channel after the arrest of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, where he allegedly accused Islamabad Police of physically and sexually assault on Gill in police custody.
However, the Karachi police on Monday, as per DAWN Newspaper said local police had not arrested the YouTuber.
