Independence Day celebrations: Police announces traffic plan

Islamabad, Aug 13 (Online): The Federal Traffic Police has issued a traffic plan in connection with the celebrations of Independence Day.

As many as 425 officers and personnel will be posted on special duty.

Special squads have also been formed by installing more than 55 checkpoints.

Which will ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city on August 13 and 14? One-wheeling motorcyclists, vehicles with black glasses, dangerous driving and vehicles with heavy silencers, will be strictly cracked down on motorcycles.

According to the details, Islamabad Traffic Police has created a special traffic plan for the celebrations in connection with the Independence Day in the light of the special orders of IG Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan according to which SP, 4 DSPs, 19 inspectors including 425 officers and officials have been deputed.

On this occasion, the Islamabad Traffic Police has decided to deal strictly with the motorcycle riders who were wheeling on August 13 and 14.

SSP Traffic has issued special instructions to all zonal in-charges to crackdown on one-wheeling motorcyclists, dangerous driving and vehicles with heavy silencers, motorcycles.

There should be no exception and action should be taken against the motorcycle mechanics who tamper with the motorcycle.

Special squads were formed on August 13 and 14 in the main highways of Islamabad, including Srinagar Highway, Expressway.

Highway, Faisal Avenue, Murree Road, Seventh Avenue, Ninth Avenue, Park Road and other major highways and other places by installing more than 55 roadblocks against one-wheeling motorcyclists, dangerous driving and vehicles with heavy silencers, motorcycles.

SSP Traffic has also appealed to the parents not to allow their children to use one-wheeler bikes at all, otherwise their bikes and vehicles will be locked in the police station while taking legal action.
