IHC stops law enforcement agencies from arresting PTI leader Shahbaz Gill

ISLAMABAD, May 02 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has stopped law enforcement agencies from arresting PTI leader Shahbaz Gill in violation of sanctity of Masjid-e-Nabvi case.

PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has filed through his counsel Faisal Chaudhry a petition in connection with preventive bail in IHC.

He has taken plea in his petition that a false and fabricated FIR was registered against him. I am ready to join the investigation in the case registered against me, he added. Therefore, my preventive bail plea be accepted and opportunity be provided to me to appear before the respective court.

Chief Justice (CJ) of IHC Athar Minallah took up the case for hearing Monday.

The CJ IHC inquired from the counsel of petitioner where is Shahbaz Gill.

Faisal Chaudhry told the court he went to US on April 28 and would return to Pakistan on May 4.

Faisal Chaudhry told the court cases were registered against Shahbaz Gill in Faisalabad, Attock, Jhelum and several other cities. He is being victimized politically. The petitioner wants to appear before the court.

His return ticket is attached with the petition. He will return on May 04.

The court after hearing Faisal Chaudhry arguments prevented law enforcement agencies from arresting Shahbaz Gill.
