NEPRA approves Rs.2.86 increase in electricity price

ISLAMABAD 27 April (Online): National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved 2.86 per unit increase on electricity price on Wednesday.

This increase took place for fuel adjustment of March which will add 28.9 billion in consumers’ burden.

In detail decision NEPRA told that less amount of electricity was produced from indigenous coal, LNG and gas and due to irregularities in merit order this burden increased.

Authority told that 3400 million increased due to LNG scarcity and 9 million burden added due setting off efficient plants.

Some Furnace plants operated instead of some power plants, they also added.
