Hoarding, black-marketing sabotages govt’s relief package ahead of Ramadan

ISLAMABAD – March 29 (ONLINE) Hoarding and black-marketing are creating serious problems for masses ahead of Ramadan, also vandalizing government’s subsidized program for Holy month of Ramadan.

According to media reports, government had announced a Ramzan Package about two weeks ago, according to which prices will be reduced for 19 items with a subsidy of Rs 8.2 billion through Utility Stores Corporation (USC).

As part of the program, essential items such as flour, sugar, ghee, oil, pulses, gram flour, dates, rice and other items will be offered at reduced rates.

However, ahead of Ramadan’s beginning, subsidized flour and ghee have reportedly been demolished from the Utility Stores of federal capital Islamabad.

Citizens are complaining from different Tehsils of Rawalpindi of unavailability of flour on utility stores, and other shops citing store owners saying as subsidized flour has not been provided by government yet.
