ISLAMABAD – March 28 (ONLINE) A split in Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) was reported Monday as party leadership was divided over no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
As Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was settling matters with the PM in Banigala on Monday evening, federal minister Tariq Bashir Cheema announced to tender resignation from his portfolio, saying that he will vote in favor of joint-opposition’s no confidence motion against PM Imran.
Sources said Monday that PML-Q head and former PM Chaudhry Shujat Hussain did not meet government delegation despite being present at home. Shujaat is not ready to further cooperate PTI government, sources said.
While on the other hand, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Monday accepted government’s offer to replace Usman Buzdar to become next Punjab Chief Minister, party leader and Federal Minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi confirmed.
Sources therefore said Moonis Elahi and Parvez Elahi are unable to convince Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, creating a rift between party leadership.
