Peshawar (PNI) An explosion took place during Friday prayers at Kocha Risaldar Mosque in Qissa Khawani Bazaar, Peshawar, killing 30 worshipers and injuring 50 others.
According to SSP Operation Haroon Rashid, the blast appeared to be suicide. According to rescue sources, 30 injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital so far, out of which 10 are in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses say the blast occurred during Friday prayers. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Saif said that it was reported that the terrorists first tried to enter the mosque.
The terrorists also exchanged fire with the police. A terrorist entered the mosque and carried out the operation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the Peshawar blast and directed immediate medical aid to the injured and demanded a report on the incident.
