Motorway police foils bid to smuggle armory

ISLAMABAD – February 14 (ONLINE) National Highways and Motorway police on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle modern weapons and recovered a large quantity of modern weapons on Motorway (M-1) near Peshawar Toll Plaza.

According to the statement by Highway police, operation was carried out about one kilometer away from Peshawar Toll Plaza.

“Motorway Police officers were on their routine patrolling in the vehicle, meanwhile at some distance they observed that two motorcyclists cutting the security fence and throwing suspicious bags inside the Motorway” the statement added.

It added that motorcyclists left their bags and fled away. The police seized the suspicious bags, which were carrying weapons and rounds. The police recovered SMGs, Kalshankof rifles, M-16 shape rifle, 12 bore rifle and pistols.

Later on, recovered arms & ammunition were handed over to the Chamkani District Police Station for further legal action and investigation.
