Blast in Herat leaves six dead

Kabul – January 23 (ONLINE): A bomb blast near the Afghan city of Herat has killed at least six people and injured dozens more.

Bomber struck shortly after noon in the western Afghan city of Herat, according to a foreign news agency. Cause of blast was not immediately clear, but no group has claimed responsibility for the blast. The condition of three of the injured is said to be critical.

Security forces launched an immediate search operation after securing the spot immediately.

It should be noted that an explosion in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan had took place few days ago in which 9 people including children were killed and many others were injured.

According to Afghan media, local officials in Nangarhar had confirmed the blast and said that most of the dead were children.
