KARACHI, Jan 14 (APP):Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Karachi Police, Imran Yaqoob Minhas was briefed that 53 alleged dacoits among 158 accused were arrested by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), of Karachi police with a view to contain the reported increasing incidents of bank robberies, specially in the industrial zones.
This was briefed to the AIG Karachi by Senior Superintendent of Police SSP – SIU Arif Aziz in a four months report about police action against the criminals.
The report shared that the SIU has recovered Rs 1.5 million, 255 kilograms Hashish, one and half kilograms myth and crystal, 86 pistols, 18 motorcycles from the arrested accused.
The police also registered 134 cases against the arrested suspected during the period from September 20, 2021 to January 13, 2022.
As many as 54 gangs were busted by the police in view of reported incidents of bank robberies, narcotics and street crimes.
