Govt considering to implement mini budget through presidential ordinance due to refusal for support from allied parties

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (Online): Government is facing challenge in connection with passage of mini budget from National Assembly (NA) in the wake of refusal from allied parties for supporting mini budget.

The government is now considering to implement mini budget through presidential ordinance so that IMF requirement could be met.

Opposition on the other hand evolved strategy to stop passage of mini budget from parliament.

Sources said some ministers of ruling party and chief whipp had sought cooperation from the allied parties on finance amendment bill. But MQM, PML-Q and DGM are not in favor of bringing mini budget. Balochistan Awami Party too is in quandary.

The allied parties are of the view already high inflation prevails in the country. If we become part of mini budget then we too will have the situation what PTI has faced during the Local bodies election in KP.

Sources said government has asked not to table finance amendment bill in connection with mini budget in the NA without completing number.

Consultations are underway to implement mini budget through presidential ordinance after national assembly and senate sessions. Finance amendment bill cannot be approved in national assembly without the cooperation of allied parties.

Government is considering to force the opposition to boycott the session and then get pass the bill.

Sources disclosed that opposition too has evolved strategy and has directed all its members to remain in Islamabad. Opposition is determined not to allow any bid to succeed to get pass the mini budget in parliament.
