Sania covers eight small cities this Sunday on second leg of Ehsaas Rashan tour to 30 cities

ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar along with Ehsaas and National Bank of Pakistan teams, completed the second leg of the 30 cities tour that kicked off the other day.

On the way from Islamabad to Peshawar, Dr. Sania visited Wah, Hassan Abdal, Kamra, Jehangira, Akora Khattak, Nowshera City, Pabbi and Peshawar.
She interacted with several retailers, local trader associations, district administrations, press and electronic media alongside the G.T. Road.

On Saturday, she visited six small towns in Rawalpindi and Jhelum including Rawat, Mandra, Gujar Khan, Sohawa, Dina and Jhelum. So far, 14 small cities and towns have been covered over this weekend.

“These visits are part of the nationwide awareness drive of Ehsaas to educate people, Kiryana merchants and other local stakeholders about the recently launched Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme. The registration of low-income families and Kiryana owners is open online via https://ehsaasrashan.pass.gov.pk/ till next three weeks,” said Dr. Sania.
“From Gilgit to Gwadar, small retailers running Kiryana stores in both rural and urban settings can equally register and participate in the programme. For enrollment, the Kiryana retailers will be facilitated by NBP nationwide to open their bank accounts anywhere in the country”, she further added.

Interacting with retailers, Dr. Sania herself explained the registration process for the Ehsaas Rashan along with operational modalities of the Ehsaas Rashan’s mobile point of Sale (mPOS) app that will be used to deliver targeted subsidy on selected commodities.
She also explained to retailers the substantial benefits of participating in the programme.

She informed that along with the subsidy amount, they will also give 5-8% commission directly into their bank accounts within 24 hours after the completion of each transaction.
Best performing retailers will also be rewarded with cars, motorcycles, mobile phones through luck draws, every quarter.

All the Kiryana retailers, local trader associations and district administrations signaled strong interest in participating in Ehsaas Rashan programme.

Later in the day, Dr. Sania visited NBP Regional Headquarters in Peshawar and met with the NBP team and a group of local retailers. She also made an appeal to all retailers and NBP staff to facilitate and guide more and more Kiryana retailers and deserving families in their surroundings especially in far flung rural settings.

The visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa concluded at a press conference with local press and electronic media. Provincial governments of KP, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are fully participating in the programme.

The federal government and all participating federating units including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will share fiscal resources in the proportion of 35:65.
