ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (Online): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said relations between Pakistan and Norway are historical and 50000 Pakistanis settled in Norway have played key role in fortifying these bilateral ties.
He said during his meeting with his Norwegian counterpart Ine Eriksen Soreide on the occasion of 76th session of UN General Assembly.
The two exchanged views on bilateral relations and matters of regional and global importance.
He said that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment and development projects is of excellent nature. Broader scope for bolstering cooperation in political, economic, energy sectors and matters of mutual interest exist between the two countries.
Government of Pakistan is providing attractive incentives to foreign investors, he remarked. The larger companies of Norway can benefit from our business friendly policies and reap the best profit by making investment in Pakistan.
The two also agreed on holding next political consultative meeting between Pakistan and Norway soon.
The establishment of Pak-Norway Friendship group; in Norwegian parliament can prove conducive in promoting parliamentary connectivity between the two countries, he added.
The Foreign Minister also presented to his Norwegian counterpart a comprehensive Dossier documenting India’s gross and systematic violations of human rights in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir
FM also apprised his Norwegian counterpart of emerging situation in Afghanistan and future strategy for establishment of peace.
