ISLAMABAD, APRIL 22 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) has expressed annoyance over special prosecutor Punjab for seeking time in the matter of Sheikh Rashid acquittal plea in GHQ attack case.
Acquittal plea of Sheikh Rashid came up for hearing in SC in GHQ attack case Tuesday.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Hashim Kakar heard the case.
Justice Salah ud Din Pinhwar and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim are part of the bench.
During the hearing of the case Punjab government sought time for presenting evidence in connection with appeal plea of Sheikh Rashid.
Justice Hashim Kakar reprimanded special prosecutor of Punjab government for seeking adjournment. The judge warned if adjournment has to be sought then don’t come to court . Adjournment will be given only on the death of judge, lawyer or accused.
Special prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi took the plea some accused persons want to present confessional statements.

The court while directing to fix hearing of the case next week gave clear message to government that arguments of political nature merely will not be acceptable without completing legal formalities.
Decision will be given as per law in this court and nothing will be done beyond law.
