NA speaker extends offer of arbitration to PPP, PML-N on the issue of canals and others

ISLAMABAD, APRIL 16 (ONLINE): Differences between PPP and PML-N have aggravated on the issue of canals and speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has become active for reconciliation between the two parties.
Speaker NA has extended offer for arbitration on the issue.

PPP has threatened for not extending cooperation to federal government in passage of budget in the event of non resolution of matters.
The differences between PPP and PML-N have intensified over PML-N non cooperation to get pass the resolution from National Assembly on carving out canals from river Indus.
PPP leadership has expressed annoyance over persistent non cooperation from PML-N. PPP has threatened for not extending cooperation to PML-N in the passing of budget.
NA speaker Ayyaz Sadiq has accelerated his efforts to end tension between the two parties. However no forward movement has been witnessed in the first session of talks between PML-N and PPP.

Government sources said government will take any decision on this matter with the consultation of all stake holders. However no progress has been made on the matter of canals uptill now.
On the other hand PPP has linked development program for the next fiscal year to consultation and proposals saying no cooperation will be extended to get pass the budget if consultation is not made and Sindh related projects are not included in budget.
PPP has also demanded to abolish carving out canal project.

Speaker NA has adjourned session of NA before schedule to avert tension on the matter of resolution. As per schedule the session was to be adjourned on April 18.
