NEW DELHI, MARCH 21 (ONLINE): Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death in 2020 is reignited with a fresh petition by Disha Salian’s father, claiming her murder was covered up for political reasons. The petition names Aaditya Thackeray and seeks further investigation. Sushant’s relatives support the call, believing Disha’s case directly connects to Sushant’s mysterious death, demanding both cases be reexamined.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s cousin calls for a fresh investigation into Disha Salian’s death, linking it to SSR’s murder: We will urge them to reopen the case
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was tragically found dead at his Bandra home on 14 June 2020, aged 34. Just days earlier, on 8 June, his manager, Disha Salian, passed away after reportedly falling from a building in Mumbai. Nearly five years later, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death. He claims Disha was “brutally raped and murdered” and that her death was covered up for political reasons. The petition specifically names Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray and demands his custodial interrogation.
The Salian family’s move has drawn support from Sushant Singh Rajput’s relatives. His cousin, Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, has backed the demand for a fresh probe into Disha’s death. He believes solving her case will provide answers about Sushant’s mysterious death. Speaking to IANS, Neeraj said, “After all these years, this issue has come back into the spotlight. Disha’s death occurred just days before Sushant was found dead. We’ve always believed there’s a connection. Disha was also murdered, but the police covered it up. Now, her father has come forward and confirmed what we’ve been saying for so long, that there was external pressure on him. We urge the current government to investigate this case thoroughly because once the truth comes out about Disha’s death, it will shed light on Sushant’s case as well. The two are linked, and both cases need to be investigated together.”
Sushant’s father, KK Singh, also spoke out, reiterating his belief that his son did not die by suicide. He has called on the CBI to reveal its findings. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I don’t know his reasons and motivation for moving the court, but what he has done is right, and if through this we can get a conclusion on whether it was a suicide or murder, then in this Sushant’s case can also be known on what happened.”
Neeraj also told Republic TV, “The Thackeray government tried to suppress the issue and stop the investigations. Disha’s murder is linked with Sushant’s murder. If a person falls from the 12th floor, there would be blood around the body,, but there was no blood. It means that she was silently murdered. We were asking for an investigation continuously; now that the govt has changed, we will urge them to reopen the case and get the truth in front of us. Disha Salian’s father has come through; he was pressured to stay silent, but finally, he has come out and spoken openly about the case.”
Meanwhile, as mentioned by IANS, Aaditya Thackeray has dismissed these allegations, calling them an attempt to divert attention from other pressing matters. Reacting to the petition, he said that efforts to link him to the case were part of a long-running campaign to defame him. He claimed that the revival of the case was aimed at shifting public focus from other issues, such as recent statements made by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the relevance of Aurangzeb’s tomb.
