ISLAMABAD, February 13 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has given time to PPP till March 12 for filing reply with reference to intra party election.
PPP intra party case came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of EC led by member Sindh Nisar Durrani here Thursday.
Counsel Sajid Tanoli appeared on behalf of PPP and told PPP chairman is in US. One month time be given to us.
Member Sindh said intra party election was conducted on January 6, 2021. PPP elections are held for four years.
Counsel Sajid Tanoli said notice was given to party chairman on February 6. DD Law sent notice and after it we have appeared.
Member Sindh said the elections which were to be held during four years were not conducted. Show cause has been issued to you.
Counsel Sajid Tanoli said Farooq H Naik is too busy due to his responsibilities in Senate.
Member Punjab inquired you need how much time for filing reply.
The counsel said please give one month time. We will file the reply.
EC gave time to PPP till March 12.
