NEW DELHI, FEB 11 (ONLINE): Bollywood stars showcase their emotional and philanthropic sides through heartfelt promises—be it Neha Dhupia’s affectionate vows to Angad Bedi or celebrities’ commitments to charitable causes. #PromiseDay 2025 – Bollywood stars and their heartfelt promises of love, friendship, and more
Promises, a beautiful notion that helps build trust and the one that binds you to another person – forever, are meant to be special in our lives! Not only do they help you get closer to a person but you start to know them inside out. Whether it’s a platonic promise by Michael Corleone from ‘The Godfather’ promising, “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse,” or a romantic promise from Elena to Damon in ‘The Vampire Diaries’, “I promise you, I will find a way to make it work. Because I love you,” each has carved a special place in our heart.
Likewise, in the glitzy life of BTown, many stars have made heartfelt promises to each other, or their fans. Let’s take a look at some of the hopeful, yet adorable promises made by our darling Bollywood celebrities!
The Pink Love Story of Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi
A few moons ago, Neha Dhupia shared a cherished note on Instagram for her husband, Angad Bedi, on the occasion of his birthday. With a few endearing pictures of the BTown couple, she promised him a list of things. She swore to be a better listener, talk less, get ready before him, let Angad believe that his movie choices are better than hers, watch more test cricket, eat slow, run fast, keep her phone aside all day, and love him every day. Considering Neha, being the precious wife, wrote such a sweet note, many Instagram users appreciated her for the same.

The Yellow Friendship of Ram Charan and A. R. Rahman
The commitments of such global stars are to be inspired by! In the previous year, A. R. Rahman promised the authorities of Kadapa Dargah that the icon, Ram Charan would attend the 80th National Mushaira Ghazal event as the Chief Guest. Without any dithering, Charan promised Rahman, and he attended the event despite being reasonably busy with his schedule.
The Green Promises of Charities by Bollywood A-Listers
Promises extend beyond a familiar bond with another person. Many Bollywood celebrities have pledged themselves to serve our society by associating with foundations to donate and raise money, simultaneously.
Alia Bhatt
In 2022, Alia Bhatt shared an Instagram post where she declared her association with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to donate funds to the Salaam Bombay Foundation. The foundation strives to help adolescents from underprivileged backgrounds with secondary education, vocational skills training, and sports, arts, and media programs.
Sonu Sood
The actor, Sonu Sood, who chose to be a hero during the Covid-19 pandemic by helping the needy in every way possible, inaugurated his own foundation ‘Sood Charity Foundation’. The foundation has launched various programs over the years, some of which being ‘Sonu For You’ – India’s largest blood bank, free delivery of oxygen tanks and cylinders, and a scholarship program called ‘SAMBHAVAM – IAS Scholarship’.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Aside from being the National Ambassador of UNICEF India and joining the global Goodwill Ambassador team in the past decade, Priyanka Chopra Jonas strives to help women. She has put in a lot of effort to support children’s rights and the education of underprivileged girls while raising awareness against the abuse of women.
Deepika Padukone
After her tragic history of going through Depression and Anxiety, the stronger and healthier version of Deepika Padukone founded ‘LiveLoveLaugh’ to help combat the stereotypes surrounding mental health by creating awareness and offering resources.
The Grey Promise of Quitting the Habit of Smoking
From Shah Rukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, many Bollywood A-listers have promised their loved ones to withdraw from the harmful addiction, and quit smoking.
Shah Rukh Khan
Previously, King Khan admitted to smoking up to 100 cigarettes a day, but he changed his trajectory. While he still feels breathless sometimes during the day, he promised his fans during his birthday event to smoke again and look after his health.

Nawaab decided to quit smoking after he had a heart attack at the age of 36 after experiencing some serious chest pain. Saif opted for a healthier lifestyle as he not only stopped smoking but also stopped drinking in 2007.
Arjun Rampal
Arjun Rampal, who used to smoke from his good old days of boarding school, left the bad habit in the past. He decided to quit after he realized that his smoking was problematic for his son, Arik’s lungs, while they were spending time in the Covid-19 lockdown.
Hrithik Roshan
In 2020, Hrithik declared himself a ‘Non-Smoker’ on Twitter, after releasing the life-threatening effects of smoking. His tweet said, “If I was Krrish, the first thing I’d do after eradicating this virus would be to decimate eradicating this virus would be to decimate.”
While some BTown celebrities decided to follow their promises, not everyone could. Few of the celebrities even promised ‘forever’ to their loved ones, which is not the truth, considering that life is not a typical Bollywood ‘happy-ending’ film. Bollywood has seen disastrous breakups, with controversies fueling the headlines, but this industry has also seen romantic lives, ending with smiles of being married.
