SC issues notice to federation on matter of restoration of students union

ISLAMABAD, JAN 20 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has issued notice to federation and respective respondents on the matter of restoration of students union besides seeking reply from them.

The court remarked students union election schedule was issued in Quaid-e-Azam university. Students union election in Quaid-e-Azam university be seen as pilot project.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked politics has come in the election of bar. Political parties have formed political wings in educational institutes.

Justice Hassan Azhar remarked violence came in Karachi university due to students union. Students union means welfare of students. Students union does not mean politics.

Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked politics in our country is aggressive.

She gave these remarks on Monday.

Students union restoration matter came up for hearing before SC constitutional bench presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan on Monday.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired is there ban in place on students union. When ban was imposed on students union.

He further remarked there are political wings of political parties in Karachi university.

The court issued notice to the respective respondents on the matter of restoration of students union.

The court adjourned hearing of the case for indefinite period.
