ISLAMABAD DEC 23 (ONLINE): India, placed in Group A, will face Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in what promises to be a high-stakes competition. ICC has deliberately chosen February 23 to stage the Pakistan India match ensuring maximum global viewership for the 2025 Champions Trophy’s most anticipated match.
Defending champions Pakistan will begin their title defense on February 19 against New Zealand in Karachi. Their group-stage fixtures will also include a match against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi, following their encounter with India.
Semi-Finals: Scheduled for March 4 and March 5. India’s semi-final (if qualified) will be held in the UAE. Otherwise, it will be played in Pakistan.
Final: Slated for March 9 in Lahore, with the option of moving it to the UAE if India makes the final.
The hybrid hosting model Okayed by PCB and BCCI ensures that matches involving India and Pakistan are played at neutral venues while fostering continued participation in ICC events. It sets a precedent for future tournaments, including the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup and the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, both co-hosted by India.
With group-stage fixtures now finalized, anticipation for the 2025 Champions Trophy continues to build, particularly for the eagerly awaited Pakistan-India showdown.
