As the rumors about the Bollywood couple Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan are making the headlines, let’s take a throwback look at when the ‘King’ actor replied to a question on whether he and Aishwarya live with their parents Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
The topic of living with parents was put forward to Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya by Oprah Winfrey in her interview that dates back to the year 2009.

A curious Oprah asked how is it to live with one’s family after marriage. While Aishwarya Rai replied to the question with a simple “It’s normal and natural to us” answer, the ‘Ghoomer’ actor went into further details.
Abhishek Bachchan said that his father Amitabh Bachchan had lived with his parents and following the same, he also live with his parents. Replying to an honest and playful question on whether the celeb couple have their meals together or separately in different rooms, Abhishek Bachchan revealed his mother Jaya Bachchan’s one rule that she wants the couple to follow.
Abhishek said, “My mother has one rule, if we are in the city, we have to have one meal of the day together.”
Further, Oprah was shown the video footage of Aishwarya and Abhishek’s wedding ceremony from Prateeksha (the Bachchan residence in Mumbai). An all-interested Oprah described how an Indian wedding is a dazzling and luxurious affair that goes on for days. Abhishek passed on some new insights by saying that Indian weddings go on for over a week or 10 days and consist of several rituals and traditions.
Hearing about the traditional ‘Seven Vows’ aka ‘Saptapadi’, Oprah playfully said that it would be hard to get divorced after these many happenings. Aishwarya gave a thoughtful response by saying, “We don’t even try and entertain the thought.”
Fast forwarding to the present, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan have kept their lips tight on the speculations regarding their separation.
