Finance ministry act for not decreasing price of petrol by Rs 15 per liter despite PM recommendations challenged

LAHORE, June 01 (Online): The act of finance ministry for not reducing the price of petrol by Rs 15 per liter despite recommendation of Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).

The petition has been filed by Azhar Siddique in LHC.

The petitioner took the plea that reduction in price of petroleum products has been made at large scale at international level. PM recommended to reduce price of petrol by Rs 15 per liter.

The petition said finance ministry took illegal step by rejecting PM recommendation.

The petitioner requested the court to order finance ministry to issue notification regarding reduction in price of petrol as per recommendations of PM.
It may be mentioned that finance ministry has issued notification of nominal reduction in price of petrol by ignoring PM recommendations.

According to notification the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 4.74 per liter and diesel by Rs 3.86 per liter.
