Recovery of illegal arms, liquor case: Statement of CM KP could not be recorded due to acceptance of his exemption plea

ISLAMABAD, May 20 (Online): Statement of Chief Minister (CM) KP could not be recorded under 342 due to acceptance of his exemption from attendance plea in recovery of illegal arms and liquor case.

Now this statement will be recorded on June 6.

Judge Sohaib Bilal Ranjha heard the case on Monday in district and sessions court Islamabad.
Zahoor ul Hassan advocate counsel for Ali Amin Gandapur appeared in the court.

The exemption plea was submitted on behalf of Ali Amin Gandapur during the hearing of the case which was accepted by the court.

Later the court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 6.

It is pertinent to mention here that cross questioning in respect of all witnesses in recovery of arms and liquor case was completed on May 3 against CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur.

On April 29 district and sessions court Islamabad had directed to complete the evidences and cross questioning on next hearing in recovery of arms and liquor case against CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur.

On April 27 hearing of the case was adjourned till April 29.

It is pertinent to mention here that on March 7 the local court of Islamabad had sent the case again to trial court. The order for declaring PTI leader proclaimed offender was nullified.
In October 2016 Islamabad Police had claimed that they had recovered 5 Kalashnikovs, assault rifles, one pistol, 6 magazines, one bullet proof jacket, liquor and tear gas bags from the vehicle of PTI leader outside Bani gala.

PTI leader while rejecting the claims of police had said he was travelling with licensed Kalashnikov rifles. The arms license was there in the vehicle.

He claimed he was taking honey in bottle of liquor which was confiscated by police.
