LAHORE, May 15 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) while hearing the petition against appointment of Senator Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister directed Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to obtain directives from the government and appear before the court.
Petition filed by a citizen came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan .The petitioner took the plea there is no post of deputy prime minister in the constitution. Appointment of Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister is not correct legally.
He said Ishaq Dar was appointed deputy prime minister on April 28 through illegal notification. Therefore, court should order for taking action against the responsible persons. It has been requested in the petition that court should nullify the appointment of Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister. The LHC directed DAG to appear before it after obtaining directives from government.
