LAHORE, MAY 13 (ONLINE): Petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking Court orders for holding investigation by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into Wheat scandal.
The petition has been filed by citizen Mashkoor through Nadim Sarwar advocate. The petitioner through the petition has requested the court to order NAB to probe into Mega Wheat scandal. Prime Minister (PM) through principal secretary, former care taker PM, NAB and federal government have been made respondents in the petition.
It has been said in the petition that during the first two months of PML-N government 7.78 lac metric tons wheat was imported. The committee constituted at government level cannot conduct transparent investigation Government is itself part of wheat scandal. Investigations on merit are next to impossible.
It was further said in the petition that application was given to NAB for investigation into mega wheat scandal but no action was taken . The petitioner has requested the court to order NAB to probe into mega wheat scandal. The causes leading to wheat scandal be determined , amount be recovered and deposited in national exchequer.
