CPC meeting to be held under Ishaq Dar postponed

ISLAMABAD, April 06 (Online): The meeting of Cabinet Privatization Committee (CPC) to be held under foreign minister Ishaq Dar has been deferred. According to Privatization Commission (PC) sources two points agenda was to be mulled over in the first meeting of cabinet committee. Restructuring of privatization policy and prevalent situation of privatization were to be reviewed.

However finance minister has reservation on constitution of CPC under foreign minister.
In the committee constituted by Prime Minister (PM), the finance minister has not been even made member of it.
In the past the CPC was always headed by finance minister.
IMF has demanded for accelerating the pace of privatization to curtail finacial deficit in the current financial year.

Sources further said government has assured IMF to speed up work on privatization program.

As many as 25 entities are included in the active list of privatization at present.
It is condition of IMF that PIA should be privatized in the current fiscal yea
