LAHORE, April 03 (Online): Advocate General (AG) Punjab has told the court expenses amounting to Rs 12 lac per month are
being incurred on PTI founder in jail. The petition seeking provision of complete security to PTI founder in jail came up for hearing before Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday. Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Malik Shahzad A hmad Khan took up for hearing the petition filed by Afzal Azeem Pahat president PTI Lawyers forum.
The petitioner has taken plea that jail authorities have imposed restrictions on meeting with PTI founder due to security concerns. PTI founder is facing life threat in jail. Order be issued for providing full protection to the life of PTI founder.
The counsel for the petitioner said during the hearing of the case AG had demonstrated grace that he would give update on this matter.
Upon it AG told the court he had collected the information and he has brought these information.
AG told the court PTI founder has been kept in a cell. 6 cells around them are allocated for them. We have allocated 7cells for PTI founder.
AG said there is one security man for 10 persons in Adiala jail but we have deployed 14 security guards for PTI founder. The meal of PTI founder is provided from a special kitchen. Nothing is cooked for any one else in this kitchen.
Counsel for PTI founder said we have become happy what AG Punjab has told. AG Punjab said that they have installed CCTV cameras for PTI founder. Expenses amounting to RSs 5 lac have been incurred on installation of cameras. Monthly Rs 12 lac expenses are being spent on PTI founder.
PTI counsel Asad Manzoor said no one is allowed to meet PTI founder. His wife has filed petition in this regard.
CJ IHC Malik Shahzad Ahamd Khan remarked there is no need to become loyal to shah more than shah. This is very important matter. We cannot allow every one in this matter.
The CJ LHC further said we respect petitioner Afzal Pahat . It is known what people are in the parties.
The court adjourned after Eid further hearing of the petition seeking full security to PTI founder in jail.
