LHC rejects plea seeking immediate removal of Nawaz Sharif picture from Ramazan Ration bags

LAHORE, March 20 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the plea seeking immediate removal of Nawaz Sharif picture from Ramazan ration bags. Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up the petition for hearing Wednesday.
Counsel Salma Riaz gave arguments on behalf of the petitioner.

The counsel took the plea national exchequer cannot be used for personal publicity. This way the distribution of atta is against the dignity of the citizens. The petitioner prayed the court to order for stopping the printing of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif picture on ration bag. Order be issued for not hurting the prestige of the citizens in connection with distribution of atta.

Punjab government be ordered to send the cash to the citizens at their homes through Benazir Income Support.The court rejected the plea for removing Nawaz Sharif picture from ration bags related to Ramazan package forthwith. The court while issuing notice to Punjab government sought reply.
