SC issues notice to Punjab govt on bail pleas of 6 accused in May 9 incident

ISLAMABAD, March 15 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) while issuing notice to Punjab government on bail plea of 6 accused persons in May 9 incident has summoned record on next hearing. The court has asked the details about these six accused that Have they caused damage to the properties and arms have been recovered from them .

These questions have been asked by Justice Jamal Mandokhail on Friday.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Jamal Mandokhail took up bail plea of 6 accused in May 9 incident for hearing Friday.
During the hearing of the case Justice Jamal Mandokhail inquired what damage was caused by the accused to the property. Were arms recovered from the accused. What clauses were imposed on the accused.

The counsel for petitioner said in his arguments all the clauses of penal code of Pakistan have been imposed.
The court remarked have terrorism clauses slapped on the accused.
The counsel for the petitioner said yes terrorism clauses have also been included. Incident relates to May 9 but FIR was registered on May 10. Justice Jamal Mandokhail inquired are the accused not office bearers of any political party and are they shopkeepers.

The counsel for the petitioner said yes, the accused were arrested on their identification through CCTV footage.
Justice Hassan Rizvi remarked their mobile phones were recovered from the accused. Otherwise the court may seek complete record by issuing notice. The court adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
