IHC sentences Police officials, DC Islamabad

Islamabad, Mar 1 (Online): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) sentenced Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon to 6 months imprisonment in the contempt of court case for issuing MPO orders against Shehryar Afridi.
On Friday, IG Islamabad, DC Islamabad, SSP Operations and SP appeared in the court. Justice Babar Sattar of Islamabad High Court announced much awaited verdict.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon has been found guilty of misconduct. In the judgment issued on Friday, it was said that SSP Operations Jameel Zafar was also found guilty of misconduct while Deputy Commissioner Islamabad was also fined Rupees one hundred thousand.

The court also sentenced SSP Operations Jameel Zafar with a fine of Rupees one hundred thousand and four months imprisonment, the court sentenced SHO Nasir Manzoor to two months imprisonment.
The court has also directed to provide a copy of the court decision to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
