PTI files review petition in SC against decision on withdrawal of election symbol of bat

ISLAMABAD, Feb 06 (Online): PTI has filed review petition in Supreme Court (SC) against decision on withdrawing the election symbol of bat from the party. PTI while praying the court to review January 13 decision regarding intra party election requested that Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision be restored.

PTI has filed petition seeking review of SC decision on PTI intra party election and symbol of bat.

It has been said in the petition that intra party elections were held as per party constitution. While Election Commission(EC) is not authorized to review intra party election. EC decision for withdrawing election symbol of bat from PTI be declared null and void.

SC did not take correct review of the facts related to intra party election and withdrawing the election symbol from any political party is violation of basic rights of voters. Forming political party and taking part in election is enshrined in the constitution.
All the complainants in high court and Election Commission have been made respondents in the petition.

Senior lawyers Hamid Khan and Barrister Zafar Ali filed the petition on behalf of PTI.
