‘Star Wars’ Actor Passes Away

Actor Angus MacInnes, best known for his role in the original Star Wars film, has passed away at the age of 77.

MacInnes, cherished for his portrayal of Gold Leader Jon “Dutch” Vander in Star Wars: A New Hope, died on December 23, as announced by his family in a statement shared Monday on the actor’s official Facebook page.

No cause of death was disclosed.

“With heavy hearts, we share this: Angus MacInnes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and actor, passed away on December 23, 2024,” the statement read.

The family also highlighted MacInnes’ remarkable career, which spanned decades and included roles in notable films such as Witness, Judge Dredd, Hellboy, and Captain Phillips, among others.
