News Anchors Mourn Sudden Death of Colleague, Ana Orsini, Aged 28, During Broadcast
Ana Orsini, a 28-year-old news anchor, passed away unexpectedly last week, as her colleagues at KOLD-TV, a CBS affiliate in Tucson, Arizona, revealed on Monday, December 16.
To honor her memory, Orsini’s loved ones are wearing pink in tribute to the beloved journalist.
During the broadcast, anchor Tyler Butler shared the heartbreaking news with viewers, saying, “We have sad news to share: our dear friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week.”
Choking back tears, co-anchor Carsyn Currier added, “Ana joined 13 News in June 2023, and we are absolutely devastated by this loss.”
As Butler reached out to hold Currier’s hand, the two anchors recalled their memories of Orsini.
“We had the privilege of working with her every day, and we want you to know that the vibrant, funny, and lively person you saw on air was the same off-camera—and even more so,” Butler shared.
At this time, the cause of Orsini’s death has not been disclosed.
