A Canadian dad installed a smart thermostat.
“Finally,” he said. “Something that understands our weather.”
That evening, his wife found him wearing a winter coat in the living room.
“Why is it so cold?”
“I told it to set a comfortable Canadian temperature.”
“What did it do?”
“Asked which province.”
Their son tried to help.
“Just tell it we’re freezing.”
The thermostat replied, “Would you like me to turn up the heat?”
“Yes!” shouted the mother.
The father hesitated. “What does that cost?”
Before the thermostat could answer, everyone’s phones lit up.
Their daughter read the notification aloud:
“Canadian household detected. Switching from heating mode to reminding everyone there are blankets upstairs.”
