A charming young priest had just arrived at a small town church, and within weeks, half the women in town suddenly became very interested in Sunday confession.
One evening, after a particularly long confession line, the exhausted priest sat down in the parish garden to relax.
Just then, the church housekeeper walked over and whispered,
“Father… I hope you don’t mind me saying this… but the ladies seem unusually devoted since you arrived.”
The priest smiled modestly.
“Well, perhaps they’re reconnecting with their faith.”
The housekeeper grinned.
“Oh, it’s definitely something they’re reconnecting with.”
A few days later, the bishop unexpectedly visited the church.
Wanting to impress him, the priest proudly said,
“Attendance has doubled, confessions are nonstop, and donations have never been higher.”
The bishop looked amazed.
“Incredible! What’s your secret, son?”
The priest leaned closer and said softly,
“To be honest, Bishop… I simply listen very carefully.”
At that exact moment, a voice shouted from the confessional booth:
