The Bride Who Had Ten Husbands… Yet One Surprise for a Lawyer

A lawyer once found himself in a situation so strange that even his years in court had not prepared him for it.

He had fallen in love with a woman whose life story read like a stack of complicated case files. She had been married ten times before. Friends warned him. Colleagues joked that he should draft a contract before the wedding. But he was a confident man, accustomed to untangling complicated situations, and he believed that every story deserved a fair hearing.

So he married her.

The wedding was elegant, filled with laughter, music, and curious glances from guests who knew the bride’s unusual marital history. Some whispered quietly in the corners of the reception hall.

“Ten husbands?”

“Let’s see how long this one lasts.”

But the lawyer ignored the murmurs. He was certain that his marriage would be different.

Later that evening, after the celebrations ended and the guests had gone home, the newlyweds finally found themselves alone.

Just as the lawyer was about to step closer, his bride suddenly raised a hand and spoke gently.

“Please be careful,” she said. “Be gentle with me. I’m still a virgin.”

The lawyer blinked.

For a moment, he thought he had misheard.

“A… virgin?” he repeated slowly. “But you’ve been married ten times.”

She nodded calmly.

“Yes, that’s true.”

The lawyer adjusted his glasses, now deeply intrigued. His professional instincts kicked in immediately.

“Then,” he said, leaning back slightly, “I believe an explanation is required.”

His wife sighed with theatrical patience, as if she had told this story many times before.

“Well,” she began, “let me tell you about my former husbands.”

She raised one finger.

“Husband number one was a sales representative. He spent all his time talking about how amazing everything was going to be. Big promises, glowing descriptions, endless enthusiasm… but somehow he never actually delivered.”

The lawyer nodded slowly.

“That happens,” he admitted.

She raised another finger.

“Husband number two worked in software services. He told me he needed time to investigate the issue. Said he would run diagnostics and come back with a solution. I’m still waiting for his report.”

The lawyer suppressed a smile.

“Husband number three,” she continued, “was in field services. He tried to fix things, but the system simply never seemed to start.”

“Husband number four worked in telemarketing. He called often and talked a lot… but somehow nothing was ever finalized.”

“Husband number five was an engineer. Very serious man. He kept saying he needed several years to design the perfect high-tech solution.”

“Husband number six worked in finance. Nice fellow, but he kept telling me he wasn’t sure if the matter fell within his department.”

“Husband number seven was a marketing expert. Brilliant with strategies, presentations, and positioning… but never quite managed to launch the campaign.”

“Husband number eight was a psychologist. Every night he just wanted to discuss feelings.”

“Husband number nine was a gynecologist. He only examined things carefully and then said everything looked perfectly normal.”

The lawyer was now struggling not to laugh.

“And husband number ten?” he asked.

She smiled fondly.

“Ah… number ten was a stamp collector.”

The lawyer leaned forward with curiosity.

“And what happened with him?”

She sighed dramatically.

“Oh, I still miss him sometimes.”

“Why?” the lawyer asked.

She shrugged.

“Well… he spent all his time admiring rare stamps and carefully talking about their value. Very passionate man.”

The lawyer chuckled, shaking his head at the absurd sequence of stories.

Finally, she looked at him with a playful sparkle in her eyes.

“But you,” she said, adjusting the collar of his jacket, “you’re a lawyer.”

The lawyer straightened proudly.

“That’s correct.”

She smiled wider.

“And from what I hear about lawyers,” she continued sweetly, “this is the first time I’m absolutely certain…”

She leaned closer and whispered:

“…that this time I’m definitely going to get screwed in a legal sense.”

For the first time in his career, the lawyer realized he had entered a case where the verdict was already decided—and the courtroom was his own bedroom.

And as he burst into laughter, he admitted to himself that perhaps this marriage, unlike the previous ten, might actually be the most entertaining case of his life.
