Margaret Miles-Bramwell, the founder of the weight loss company Slimming World, has passed away at the age of 76.
According to a statement from the company, Ms. Miles-Bramwell died on Sunday morning, surrounded by her family. The tribute acknowledged her profound impact, stating that she had “touched the hearts and changed the lives of millions.”
Slimming World shared an emotional announcement on Instagram, saying, “It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved founder, Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE, passed away earlier today, surrounded by her family.
“As well as being our guiding star and the beating heart and soul of Slimming World, Margaret will be remembered as a much-loved mum, grandmother, and great-grandmother.”
Miles-Bramwell launched the business in 1969, growing it from a single weight loss group into a nationwide network with more than 3,500 consultants, making Slimming World a household name.
